The third nEUROgastro TANDEM took place at at the Chronic Diseases Research Center (CEDOC)/NOVA Medical School (NMS), NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal from the 02.09. to the 04.09.2019 and it was a great success. We want to thank all of the participants as well as the sponsors for making this event unique. 

 

• 10 participating countries by origin of participants
• 12 females / 8 males (60% / 40%)
• Broad level of career stage : MD/PhD candidate to more established researcher with several papers
• Broad level of education : gastroenterology , neurogastroenterology , food intake, biopharmaceutical science, biology, neuroscience and life sciences
• Broad thematic : autonomic nervous system , achalasia , IBS, stress, Hirschprung ´ s disease , globus , microbiata , iron metabolism , FD, obesity , pancreatitis

 

Although all 10 projects were well composed and promising the following two projects were given the highest score by all participants:

 

We want to congratulate Ana Pêgo from Portugal & Lucas Wauters from Belgium who made the first price with their promising project: "The involvement of gut microbiota and iron metabolism in functional dyspepsia".

 

Second place was awarded to Anja Radovan from Croatia and Hanna Ilchmann
Diounou from Germany (working in France)  who participated with their well thought out project: "Does stress sensitize to acute pancreatitis?"
